You may use this form to determine a schedule for sharing your leased horse's available time.  Your plan may be as structured or unstructured as you wish.  After a plan has been agreed upon, plese sign the form and return a copy to WRR.

  1.         In which type of riding activities do you plan to participate?  For example: jumping classes, dressage classes, drill team, JETS, Fun Shows (which ones), trail riding, camping trips, club overnight, etc.  Do you share some of the same interests?  How will you handle possible conflicts?

3.         To avoid any additional horse usage fees, avoid riding at the same time. A plan might be developed that specifically lists your riding times.  If your co-lessee should need to ride during your regularly scheduled time, and some other compromise cannot be worked out (such as trading time) then your co-lessee would be obligated to ride a different horse and pay for the use of that horse.

If you end up riding at the same time, how will you decide who will ride your leased horse and who will pay

            to ride another horse?

Here's our riding schedule:

CO-LESSEE RIDING PLAN EXAMPLE

Here's an example of how two people might arrange to share their leased horse's available time.

Jody participates in trail riding, lessons, fun shows and drill team.  Laura is interested in dressage, jumping, trail riding, lessons and showing dressage.  Laura has no interest in drill team so there's no conflict there.  Laura would like to ride on Tuesday evenings.  Jody agrees since she rarely makes it out on Tuesday evenings.  Jody takes either the Friday 7:30 or Monday 7:30 class and Laura the Monday dressage and Saturday jumping class.  Their leased horse might get a little tired on Monday evenings but he'll probably be in such great shape with both of them riding that it won't be a problem, but if it is Jody offers to take the Friday 7:30 class.  They agree to the following riding schedule.

Laura and Jody discussed possible conflicts. What if Jody wanted to participate in a parade?  What if they both wanted to be in a fun show?  What about trail rides? They agreed that whenever possible they would accommodate the other person's need to participate equally in special events and be willing to switch times/days.  For example, trail rides are usually held Sunday mornings, Jody's scheduled time to ride on Sundays.  Since both wanted to attend these rides they decided to alternate.  Jody would take one in June and Laura would take one in July (the other lessee could ride in the afternoon after the trail riders returned and the horse had rested).  They decided to alternate fun shows the same way.

They also agreed that, if the situation ever arose that they were both riding at the same time, the person not scheduled to ride at that time would pay the extra fee and ride a different horse.

Since both wanted to go on weekend campouts (but avoid paying additional horse usage fees), they agreed they could both go and ride on alternate days and split the trailering fee.
