APPLESCOTCH CRISP

7 cups apples, peeled and sliced. (about 7 medium, however I use large

braburn apples which takes about 3 1/2 apples.)

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 Tbsp. flour

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup water

 

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  In large mixing bowl, combine apples, brown

sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, milk and water, mix well.  Pour into ungreased

9x9x2 or 11x7x1 inch pan.

 

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup quick-cooking oats

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, I don't use them.)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 package (about 3 oz.) butterscotch pudding and pie filling.  I use

instant. (could substitute vanilla pudding if you want to.)

1/2 cup butter, melted

Combine remaining ingredients; mix until crumbly and sprinkle over apples.

Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden

brown.  Serve warm or cool.  8 servings.
